My first foray into the cut paper technique as an actual, physical creation, and not just a bunch of Photoshop layers. Created within a photo box, it details the memory of my first kiss, and I enjoyed it so much (both the box and the kiss) that I want to extend it into a series of many different boxes, holding many different memories.

Created from colored pencil and charcoal, a travel collage about the romance of Roma. Also, exciting-ness! I have secured a summer internship working with my (soon-to-be previous) professor Catherine Fruisen on a doodle book all about the state of Texas. By the end, I'll have gained invaluable knowledge on the importance of levels, grey scale, and flecks of black where they shouldn't be. :) But I am very excited to be on board with Catherine, and can't wait to see the final product, and share it with all of you.
From my collage class, I give you beeswax, a truly fun experience if you like the smell of anything burning. Different applications provide different translucency, and besides that, you get to melt things! The above consists of magazine pictures, book pages, tissue paper and cardboard, and some inking here and there.
