First, a gentle nudging reminder - have you checked out and backed my wallet on Dynomighty? Go here to back "Vanquishing of Darkness" for only $15, there's only 10 days left to do so. And there's some new art in my "Sexy" series, this one about gardening. Next: archaeology. Think Lara Croft and Indiana Jones combined. You can check out the series at Society6. The "Reading is Sexy" piece will also be available as a tote bag at ZaPow! illustrator's gallery in Asheville, NC in the next few weeks.

Yes indeed, folks, it's that time again - time to support your artists and back one of my latest projects. As a new member of Dynomighty, where you can buy those groovy indestructible Tyvek wallets, I get the chance to put my artwork on a wallet and put it out for your judgement. Quite literally, as my wallet design only gets printed if 30 people back it within 30 days. However, if you back it for only $15, you get the wallet for your trouble, and the wallet gets a full production run (as well as putting some moolah into my own wallet). You may be familiar with the artwork on this wallet - it's from my self-written, self-illustrated, still in-progress book "The Vanquishing of Darkness" that you can see spreads of over HERE. So spruce up your pockets with a cool new wallet pre-order "Vanquishing of Darkness" by clicking HERE.
While "Horns" did not make it to purchase, my t-shirt skills have been employed towards a better end results. I hope the sales group at AUM enjoy their t-shirts, and I hope to work with them again.
Beyond this, though, I'm in untested waters. I've been chosen to illustrate a graphic novel for the upcoming DragonCon. Character design is something I've never done before, but I take to it nicely - there's something enchanting about drawing the same person over and over, a person who does not even exist if not for you. And the writing I'm working off is wonderfully inventive and visually stunning. I hope to post some process work soon, but also to inform you that it will be for sale in the next month, online no less, for only $3, so I highly recommend it's purchase. :) Now under consideration at Threadless, the above "Horns" may be up for vote in the next few days. At that point, all you have to do is go here and vote, and if all goes well, soon it'll be available for sale! I appreciate your votes in advance, and if you like the design, but don't wear t-shirts, it is also for sale on my page at Society 6.
So, I have two pieces of big news! First news, personal: I found a design studio in Knoxville. Like, a reputable one, with clients all over the country, offering such services as illustration and creative writing. Can anyone say, "my dream job"? I've already got my career advisor looking over my resume and cover letter, and as soon as that's ship shape, I'm gonna be sending that company a letter, asking about a summer internship. Doing art, in a paid job, at home. I'm flying so high.
Second news, public: Christopher Nolan has announced that he will be doing another Batman movie. This will feature the lovely Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, and sexy Tom Hardy as villain Bane. As a fan of both Mr. Nolan, and his Batman movies, I can only wait with bat-ed breath (ha, wordplay) for its midnight release, which won't come soon enough. Now, to research Catwoman costumes... |
