First Friday Aftershocks

First off - a great big thank you to all who attended my first First Friday show this past week! Two of the pieces on the wall have sold already, and I had an impromptu interview with WBIR10, due to the nasty weather. The show will still be up the rest of December, so make sure to stop by to do some artistic Christmas shopping! If you aren't in the area, but want to see what is available, check out my First Friday page on my website for specs and prices.
Next - "Journey to Vapourri" is still going strong on NeonMob, so go check it out, as well as the spiffy new layout of their website.
Then - be sure to check out my Society6 page. Everyday there is a new special offer to celebrate Christmahanukwanza. Today - $6 off all t-shirts. Also, free shipping on orders over $50 ends Friday, so check it out soon.
And now - only the front cover is left on the color omnibus of "Jannah Station: A Soft Murder." Check out the rear cover on the Old Sins Facebook page, and read issue #1 for free at OldSins.com.
Last but not least - my friend William Nunn did a review series of the last two seasons of Sherlock, as well as speculation on the upcoming season, and invited me to join him on the Season 1, Episode 2 review of "The Blind Banker." Caution: SPOILERS ahead, but you should really should have seen the series by now anyways. You can see our review here, and check out the others in his series as he uploads more.
That's all for now, but as always, check back every Wednesday for a new post, and check out my Facebook page for the latest updates on projects.

Make More, and more, and more...

Upon seeing my 16' x 12' space at Bliss Home, I realized I needed slightly more work to hang than originally anticipated. However, with the theme being "The Nature of Duality" I had a boatload of inspiration and ideas to start my next works. With the end goal of three paintings, I present the first.

Working with black canvas has a great appeal to me, maybe just because it's different, or my heart is secretly dark...or the different thing. It lends a rich quality to the piece, while providing good direction and subtle hierarchy. After a feverish night of work to get this far, I'm sure more is close on its tracks. If you want to see this in real life, join the Facebook event on my page and come to my FIrst Friday show this December 6 at 6:00 PM. Also, my trading card set "Journey to Vapourri" comes out in less than a week - just click HERE to join for free and get ready to collect my set when it comes out on Nov. 26. That's it for now, be on the lookout for more updates at unusual times (aka. not a Wednesday morning).

*Warning: Awesome Huge Post Ahead*
Lots of things to talk about means lots of bullet points:

Snippets from "Journey to Vapourri."
  • My trading card set "Journey to Vapourri" will be premiering November 26 on NeonMob. "Journey to Vapourri" features entries from a journal created in 1856, detailing the existence of dinosaurs and humans coexisting on a small island off the coat of Australia called Vapourri. You can click on the picture above to join the Facebook event for the release, and here to join NeonMob for free and start collecting five packs a day of over twenty different card sets by amazing artists.

"Nereidum" Acrylic on canvas
  • For those who don't know about First Fridays, galleries all over the country traditionally have openings for new shows on the first Friday of each month. I've recently been given a First Friday show this December 6 at Bliss downtown in Market Square. It will feature both old favorites, such as "Key to the Soul" and new additions, like "Nereidum" above, for sale, as well as tote bags, buttons, framed and unframed prints and canvases. The closer we get to December, the more information, and the more art, I'll have to share.

"Dia de los Muertos Princesas"
  • Thank you to all who attended the Day of the Dead show at ZaPow! gallery in Asheville, NC. I'm pleased to announce "Dia de los Muertos Princesas" which hung in the window of ZaPow! this past month, has sold - I hope the new owner likes it in their home. For those who wanted it in their home, don't despair - the prints are still available for sale on my Society6 page.

  • New personal fun project - animal mix & match! Throw two animals together, and see what happens, especially when the ideas come from my Facebook followers. After the first batch, I'm looking for suggestions for new animal combos - just click on the picture above and submit your ideas. The best ones will be printed and shown at my First Friday show this December.

Goodness that was a awesome long post! Thanks for sticking through to the end, I hope you liked it, and look forward to more event updates later this month.

Dinosaurs, Mermaids and Zazzle - Oh My!

I love being able to give everyone the opportunity to buy Elizabeth Kidder illustrations anywhere. That's why I got a gallery space, a Society6 store, and now, a Zazzle store called ekidderillustrator. I just opened it yesterday, so it looks a little bare right now, but soon it will be filled with all sort of awesome products - not just canvas prints, but t-shirts, tote bags, buttons and do-dads galore! I'll keep you posted here and on Facebook when new products are uploaded (Oh yeah, if you haven't liked my Facebook page, Like it now HERE).
I also like showing you guys my progress on recent pieces, and I've been very busy these past couple weeks. Those who follow Elizabeth Kidder: Illustrator know all about it, but I can't neglect the blogosphere. Below is my in-progress latest painting, about a mermaid and an actual sea-horse.

I'm super excited about them, but before I can finish, I have one my longest-running projects to date approaching the finish line, a trading card set for the online site NeonMob. It's completely free to collect and trade, and all the different artwork is phenomenal. If you want to join, just click this HERE and you're in! And to entice you more, here are some snippets from my nearly finished set, tentatively titled "Steampunk Dinosaurs."

Remember: If you ever see my artwork while out and about, snap a picture and send to me here or on Facebook. Who knows, you may be rewarded...
