I spent this weekend at Campbell Station Park for Art in the Park, creating plein aire art pieces and photographs. They will be shown at the opening reception on Friday, May 9, 7 PM at 11483 Parkside Drive (inside Turkey Creek next to Men's Warehouse). I'll be exhibiting four brand new watercolors and photographs for sale, as well as oldies-but-goodies Carefully Composed & Microcosm. My next show will be Alchemy: The Magic of Art and Flowers, on Friday, May 16 from 1 -4 and Saturday, May 17 from 10-4 at the Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive. Key to the Soul will be featured as a pairing with a floral arrangement reflecting the piece, and The Art of Gardening and Ave Maria will also be displayed. These shows are free and open to the public, so please come by and support your local artists (including me)!

As the title would suggest, much is happening in Elizabeth-land. First and foremost, the Cedar Bluff mural is complete. Here's a picture, but it's best to view it in its original glory and wonder how I ever managed to paint this while twelve feet off the ground. Also on the horizon, this Saturday and Sunday I will be part of Art in the Park. I will be stationed at the Campbell Station Park, the one by the library, and there I will draw all weekend, and after a week, there will be a gallery show with the pieces I created there. Everyone is invited to come out and see all the amazing artwork being created. I might even have some swag for those who stop by. :)
With the start of my last SCAD semester, I find myself hurrying to do all the things I always planned on doing in Savannah, starting with a garden. Using a four-section wooden trough, I've planted five different flower seeds and bulbs, as well as baby bush watermelons, because I'm an optimist. If all goes as planned, everything will bloom my final two weeks at SCAD. Graduation, here I come!
