Snippets from "Journey to Vapourri."

My trading card set "Journey to Vapourri" will be premiering November 26 on NeonMob. "Journey to Vapourri" features entries from a journal created in 1856, detailing the existence of dinosaurs and humans coexisting on a small island off the coat of Australia called Vapourri. You can click on the picture above to join the Facebook event for the release, and here to join NeonMob for free and start collecting five packs a day of over twenty different card sets by amazing artists.

For those who don't know about First Fridays, galleries all over the country traditionally have openings for new shows on the first Friday of each month. I've recently been given a First Friday show this December 6 at Bliss downtown in Market Square. It will feature both old favorites, such as "Key to the Soul" and new additions, like "Nereidum" above, for sale, as well as tote bags, buttons, framed and unframed prints and canvases. The closer we get to December, the more information, and the more art, I'll have to share.

"Dia de los Muertos Princesas"

Thank you to all who attended the Day of the Dead show at ZaPow! gallery in Asheville, NC. I'm pleased to announce "Dia de los Muertos Princesas" which hung in the window of ZaPow! this past month, has sold - I hope the new owner likes it in their home. For those who wanted it in their home, don't despair - the prints are still available for sale on my Society6 page.

New personal fun project - animal mix & match! Throw two animals together, and see what happens, especially when the ideas come from my Facebook followers. After the first batch, I'm looking for suggestions for new animal combos - just click on the picture above and submit your ideas. The best ones will be printed and shown at my First Friday show this December.

DragonCon 2013 was a success! I got to finally see Artist Alley, where I met Yale Stewart, of JL8 fame, and attended a comedy seminar where I met Bill Corbet, of MST3K fame. I even got to be a part of a panel, "Raising the Robot" where I did a live-drawing session of robot sex and robot religion. :)

Life after the con has been a tumultuous up-and-down elevator (I don't like roller coasters). I've been offered a First Friday showing at the store Bliss downtown in December. I also sliced off a chunk of my middle finger and had to be taken to the emergency room for my first stitches ever. Don't worry, it was my left hand so, while awkward, it hasn't stopped me from my work, which includes a new series I'm developing to hang in my gallery in Asheville. I'll give you a hint - the theme of the show is Day of the Dead. More images to come next week, hope everyone had a sans-hospital Labor Day!

So, lots going on so far! I've begun my senior year, and with it comes the fast approach of the end of my schooling career. And as I pelt to the finish line, I have many things on my plate to achieve and attend. This Friday, October 14 from 4 to 8 PM at the Muse Arts Warehouse, is the launch party for the District's newest issue "Night and Day" in which I have a poem and short story published. If you can make it, you should come check it out, I'll be reading some of my work during the party.
Also this weekend, part of my family is coming to visit, which makes me a very happy daughter, because even in my awesome new place with my awesome new roommates, I can get a little homesick. And then, the very next weekend, I'll have another visitor, my boyfriend Aaron, to celebrate our five year anniversary. I know, sappy sappy lovey dovey, but it makes me so very happy.
Also, for previous viewers, you'll notice a complete overhaul of the website. I've moved to a different theme, one with bigger pictures and more purple. I'll be uploading more portfolio pieces more frequently, and keeping up with the blog, since there will many photo opportunities in the upcoming month, including Halloween costumes. Mine? Here's a hint - steampunk. Please check out the site, and leave your comments, I love to hear them.
