I have rubbed my fingers to the bone, slept on a sofa and eaten far too much food, but this was the best Parents Weekend ever, perhaps obviously considering this was the first time my parents actually came down for Parents Weekend. We hung out in the park on Saturday for the 31st Annual Sidewalk Arts Festival, with my entry being the piece above, about the wonder of reading. I've gotten very much into depicting reading and books in my art, because it is so crucial to who I am, and so important to continue on with every generation. We sat in the shade of the big oaks, and saw really awesome art, and even though I didn't win the contest, my parents bought my groceries, so there's a bit of win right there. In a short five weeks, graduation will be upon me, but this weekend, my senioritis blues were pushed aside and I feel refreshed and ready to tackle my last few weeks of school.
